HAZWOPER training gives workers the tools that they need to control and contain spills. During an oil and gas operation a spill, release, or leak can rapidly develop in an emergency.  Workers must be trained on how to identify the hazards posed and how to stay protected. Training is given via CBT to familiarize workers with the various classes of chemical hazards. Various protective measures are also trained. Workers are HAZWOPER trained to user proper PPE and follow other controls to mitigate the risk of exposure during an emergency.
