Intro to Unconventionals in America
Thorough overview of American unconventional oil and gas geology and modern engineering technology. This course covers the current shale revolution as well as contributions made by coal bed methane and thermal heavy oil. Students with a background in conventional oil and gas production will be able to compare and contrast techniques although no prior oil and gas experience is necessary to gain full use of the course. The course will include a trip to a shale drilling rig and a frac site. Subject to weather and other concerns.
